Due to our continued growth as well as to encroaching development in our neighborhood and the deteriorating condition of our buildings, we decided in 2000 to seek new property and build a monastery more conducive to our way of life. Since then, through help from generous benefactors, we have purchased a secluded 229-acre farm, still in the Diocese of Madison, and drawn up a master plan design. We hope to build a 47,000-net-square-foot monastery that will house 22 sisters comfortably with the ability to increase to 30; it will also include a church designed according to Cistercian architectural principles, an altar bread workshop so we can continue to support ourselves with the work of our hands, and a guesthouse.

We are now initiating a capital campaign to raise the $18 million necessary for this monastery. To expedite our move, we have divided the project into two phases:

Phase 1, estimated at $10-12 million, will include sufficient living quarters, our altar bread workshop, and a temporary chapel and guest quarters.

Phase 2, approximately $6-8 million, will complete the quadrangle of the monastery with a beautiful church and guesthouse.

Thank you for joining us in building a new monastery for the glory of God.

We gratefully accept one-time gifts, multi-year pledges (with a pledge period of up to 5 years), planned gifts, or approved gifts of stocks and securities.
